Activities for the benefit of serious and ambitious scholastic chess competitors:
- Problems to build pattern recognition and to stimulate analytical powers
- Exercises to develop a variety of chess-thinking skills
- Training to instill the confidence of mastery over many aspects of competitive play
- Projects for the students to familiarize them with the value and use of resources, to arm them with the weapons of modern competitive preparation, and to broaden their appreciation of the many facets of the game, its history, and its players.
These subjects represent the spirit of Activities and are of serious and immediate importance. Each has been lightly touched on; however, the intent is to broaden the scope with more comprehensive and elaborate treatments of these and others topics in the future!
