Austin School ChessAustin Area Schools Score in TX Grades!
Austin's chess players had one of their best showings in years at the 11th Annual 2007 Texas Grades Championship in Houston. A list of top-ten individual finishes from Austin Area players follows:

10th Grade — Sanjna Zadoo = 10th place

9th Grade — Alexander Balkm = 1st place

8th Grade — Serena Zadoo = 10th place

7th Grade — George Qi = 2nd place
7th Grade — Jeffrie Wylie = 10th place

6th Grade — Derek Chang = 1st place
6th Grade — Dhurv Garg = 8th place
6th Grade — Dylan Scott James = 9th place

4th Grade — Alexander Jiang = 2nd place
4th Grade — Keith Alan James = 3rd place
4th Grade — Austin Jiang = 9th place

3rd Grade — William Liu = 7th place
3rd Grade — Dustin Chang = 9th place

2nd Grade — Kevin Li = 3rd place

1st Grade — Louis Fernandes = 3rd place

Top-Five Team finishes (mostly represented by only two-players!):

6th Grade — Canyon Vista MS (Derek Chang, Ernest Fernandes) = 5th place
6th Grade — Cedar Valley MS (Dhurv Garg, Pooshan Shah) = 7th place
6th Grade — Austin Area Homeschoolers MS (Dylan Scott James, Ashley Balkum) = 5th place

4th Grade — St. Andrew's Elementary (Katherine Baker, Cole Baker, Henry Barnstone) = 2nd place
4th Grade — Steiner Ranch Elementary (Alexander Jiang, Austin Jiang) = 3rd placee

2nd Grade — Laurel Mountain Elementary (Kevin Li, Neil Narvekar, David Hsieh) = 1st place
