Here, local enthusiasts — players and their parents, coaches and organizers — will find up-to-date notices about future events, lists of local clubs and teachers, stimulating and relevant news items, fun puzzles, tips for raising the standard of play, information on a wide variety of resources, and ideas for enhancing the sporting experience.
On the Left Column …You will find quick links to information most likely to be of immediate interest … lists of Clubs and Teachers, and a Calendar of upcoming events. Submissions is a synopsis of how to contribute any item that you would like to share. Soon, Registries will lead to a set of forms to be completed by parents and organizations who elect to sign up with us for performance tracking, heads-up notifications, and other contact and communications needs.

You will find our main site navigation:News Archives – Past, International, National, State and Local headlines of chess-history-in-the-making about the rise of young stars of all races, creeds and nations, the continued success of yesterday’s youth in the World arena, reports on local events and links to tournament cross-tables.
Features – fun puzzles and quizzes, quips and tips, games and stories … this page is on the lighter side, and can be used as a warm-up for the more serious Activities page … here we soon hope to see stories and games submitted by local players, their parents and coaches.
Activities – problems, exercises, training regimens and projects for competitive kids to use to broaden their understanding of chess, to develop their playing skills and to otherwise prepare themselves to perform more consistently and at higher levels.
Lessons – postings of lessons, quizzes and homework — access to some of these materials will be open, but others will be restricted, with downloads limited to our private students and subscribers only.
Parents & Schools – suggestions on ways to prepare scholastic players for the rigors, rules, and results of competitive chess events, to improve their school team’s overall results, and to work together to enliven the competitive experience for all involved.
Resources – recommendations based on the results of research and exploration into both the material world of books and equipment, and the nebulous universe of the internet, with suggestions from other teachers and coaches included for good measure.
